Checklist prior sending an email for Job opportunity

Matter -
There are lot of discussions about no revert to application, no TAT ( turn around time for processing), no post submission communications. We hear this through various social media and also through calls, emails, etc.

Few reasons why we or any other recruiter/employer fail to process application or reply:
  • No subjects in most of the job application emails, for us who receives more than 100+ applications daily it's difficult to revert to all of them.
  • No information in email body
  • May be openings closed
  • Resume format in PDF, XPS, JPG format so system cannot search internal skills.
_____________

Resolution - Fortunately we have solution to most of the problems, please find below stem by step resolution to all the issues:

  • Please mention profile / concern in subject so that grabs eyeball or recruiters
  • Please mention basic details in email body like, you location, you CTC, expected CTC, reason for change, notice period, skills etc
  • Mention a quick line that inter relates

Do your homework

After schooling we missed out on a very important word "Homework"
This nostalgic word surely will take some of us in school days but what's more important is this word was not meant just for school days but for lifetime, personal and professional.

We'll not discuss about personal life impact but only professional one and that too limited to job hunt to be precise.

Here when we talk about doing our homework prior applying we mean that you should go through below checklist to make sure you get appropriate response on it.
  • You're eligible in terms of requirements
  • Proofread you job application form & cover letter many times
  • Apply for a relevant opening rather than just sending in resume for any opening
  • Do a search about organization working, culture, technologies & clients if available
  • Make sure you go through JD ( Job description ) in details prior applying
  • Just dropping an email won't help reach out to concern to let them know you sent your CV.
  • Let employers know how keen you are to associate with them & how you can make a difference
  • Last but not the least be consistent in you search & don't give up if you don't hear from them.

Signing Off for today..!!
with a small saying that we believe in "You must never ever stop getting better"

Best Regards

How to get your CV shortlisted quicker

Applied for job, shared CV many times, many places but no response.
Well don't be sad, that you don't get through, in fact may be recruiter have not yet seen your CV.

After being into recruitment industry I have been through many such instances.

Few common issues, that you can easily avoid and have your CV popped in front of recruiter's eyes are:

  • Please mention quick description into email subject like, "PHP | 2 years exp | 25k pay" or "Android developer fresher with knowledge of Java" or "SFDC | 2 years | 15 days notice | Jaipur" etc. There are many such instances which drags recruiters attention, increasing changes of your CV at least getting screened
  • Please avoid using subjects like "My resume" or "Name on subject" or "Urgent job needed" or "My updated CV" etc
  • Please try mentioning details in email content like your current CTC, notice period, expected CTC, reason for change etc.
  • Please try to keep expectations negotiable, your CV might get rejected without you being interviewed.

That's all folks, we wish you all the best for your job search. If you think this information will help someone land an opportunity please share.
